Smart resize is optional and can reduce dimensions. Lossless keeps original dimensions. If a suitable compressed file is not smaller, TinyImage returns the original.
What to check before replacing your PNG
PNG supports alpha transparency, but lossy palette changes can alter pixels. Lossless accepts a rewrite only when decoded pixels match; otherwise the original is returned.
Keep your source if profiles, layers, metadata, or archival fidelity matter. Pixel checks and page checks do not promise preservation of every application-specific feature.

Why did my compressed PNG stay the same size?
